Monday

All weekend long we left Christie out of the crate when we ran errands.  As I expected she did just great.  No mischief and no accidents.  As we leave she looks out of the living room window.  It's just low enough that she can see out.  It's funny because Miles looks out the window too but because he's black we can only see his tags...not his body.  We can see Christie's cute little face looking out.  I think she understands the routines now and she also sees that Miles and Holly are just a-okay when we leave...so she is too.

Today is a holiday and the girls and I are off work and school.  We took the dogs to the tennis courts today to let them run around.  It was Christie's first time going.  She had a blast.  Miles runs around and the others chase.  Miles is just about the fastest dog on earth so no one can ever catch him but Christie was pretty close.  She is fast when she wants to be.  At the end Christie's tongue was hanging out sideways. Now that's one happy and tired out girl.

We saw two large labs when we walked and she barked at the first and I corrected her.  When we came by the second she was much better.  She obviously gets along with other dogs.  She's fine with my two and only two weeks ago she made her journey to Chicago from Alabama with about 10 other dogs.   She met our neighbor's dogs through the fence today and was fine.  She just feels the need to bark when she's out for the walk but she showed today that with some corrections and repetition she's fine.

When Christie is happy she has a cute little howl.  When I come home she is excited and gives a cute Whoooo.  It reminds me of the schnauzers I had growing up.  Who knows, she could have some schnauzer in her.  She does shed though.  She's not a prolific shedder like a lab or a pug but she does shed some.

Christie's typical day these days includes  breakfast, a little playing with Miles, resting while I'm working, a little more play when the girls get home from school, dinner and snuggling up to watch a little TV.  She sleeps with my husband and me.  If the weather is not too bad we also squeeze a walk in there.

Thanks for reading and thanks for thinking rescue!!!
