Tuesday

Enjoyed the nice weather today and took Simon and my sheltie-mix Holly for a walk.  We did about a mile.  Simon did great.  He was even faster than Holly as he trotted along.  Really, his leg is a non-issue for his everyday life.  I wouldn't recommend agility for him (although I think he'd be great!) because all the repetitive jumping might not be good.  But, for everyday stuff he's just fine.

He's still settling in but I can tell he's a smart guy.  My dogs ring a bell on the back door to go out.  Well, Mr. Simon has started to ring it too.  He's only been here a couple days and already picked that up from the others.  Time will tell if it's a behavior that will stick.

A few pictures from today are below.

I should mention that he got a haircut before he came.  He has very soft hair that will have to be groomed, just like any non-shed or low-shed dog.  I think he looks great with shorter or longer hair.

He is puppyish.  Like a puppy he does get a little "mouthy" but he seems to listen pretty well when we correct him and tell him "no."

More to come later as we get to know Simon better.
