Lucy doing very well

Lucy is doing very well.   I believe she's feeling great and now that those darn heart worms are gone I'm sure she feels a lot better than before.  She has more pep in her step and she's just generally all around more relaxed.

One way I can tell she's more relaxed is because she's fine hanging around with my senior sheltie-mix Holly.  As you'll read below, when Lucy first came she wasn't sure about the other dogs in my house. But in the last few weeks she's shown that she's just fine with Holly.  That's good news.

She's also started napping on her back, with her belly up.  In my opinion, dogs only do that when they're really comfortable because that is a very vulnerable position for them to be in.

Lucy has more pep in her step and she's has been playing with the stuffed toys a little more.  She tosses them up in the air and then gets them.  It's very cute to watch.  She does that for a few minutes and then she rests.  She does want to race around when I let her out the crate.  Since she has a couple more days of R&R per doctor's orders I haven't let her.

She has stuck to the toys and we haven't found her chewing anything that she shouldn't.  She did pick up a pair of underwear one day but she only moved it a few feet and then left it (yes, with two pre-teens we often have socks and underwear on the floor).

Lucy likes to lay on the bed and watch me while I get ready in the morning.  She is not afraid of anything that we have found...the shower, the hairdryer, the vacuum have all been fine by her.

I have some pictures and a video below.  (The dead grass in the video is due to my senior female..not Lucy  :-)  You can tell Lucy just feels so good to feel good as she rolls around in the grass.  Please enjoy!

Thanks for reading and thanks for thinking rescue!  This girl's life has been saved twice already...once by getting from the shelter into rescue and another by having treatment to kill the heart worms.  Now, she's just looking for a third stroke of good luck...a home to call her own.

Lucy is catching some rays by the back door...letting it all hang out!

Here she is with my sheltie-mix Holly
