We are getting ready to head out on vacation so Miss Audrey is back in WI waiting for a foster home to open up. We really enjoyed having her here. She's a sweet, sweet girl and loves person that she met. Almost all Fluffy Dogs come from Alabama. Audrey was no exception and she spent some time in an AL foster home waiting for her journey North. Her AL foster mom loved her and described her as a "settled" girl. I would agree. She's very calm in the house. She's content to just hang out with whomever is there. When visitors come she greets them nicely with a whole body wag. No jumping up from this girl. Also, in the all time she was with us (about 8 weeks) she never had one accident in the house. She went into her crate nicely each night and we never heard a peep out of her.
She walks really nicely on a leash. No pulling at all. New sights and sounds including barking other dogs might cause her to pause on her walk but with encouragement she'll continue to walk on nicely.
Audrey loves people and will surely bond with her adopter. She will be a faithful shadow who will love her person. But, she's not super needy either. After a few minutes of petting she'll probably settle into a dog bed or on a blanket near by.
Audrey was heartworm positive when she came to the rescue. She's been treated for the heartworms and now just needs a monthly heartworm pill like any other dog. We've fostered several heartworm positive dogs in the last few years. They all go on to live happy lives in their new homes. For a few weeks Audrey had a lump on her back where the heartworm medicine was injected. I'm happy to report that it's all gone now, she looks great and is just as beautiful as ever.
Our Director thinks Audrey may have some setter in her. She sure might. What ever she is she's sure beautiful and will turn some heads.
Keep reading our blog for information on Audrey while she was with us. She's such a sweet and gorgeous girl who so deserves a home of her own.
Thanks for reading and thanks for thinking rescue
BTW- she is camera shy and her ears go down as soon as the camera comes out. There are a few "ears up" pictures in a prior blog post.
