A few more pictures

Happy Fourth of July.  Just a few pictures.  I will add an update later. We're off to enjoy our suburb's holiday festival.  Both girls are doing great.

Adding the update- both girls continue to do great.  It's hard to tell from the pictures but their coats are filling in nicely.  They had a few balding spots due to mites.  They've been treated and the hair is filling in.  What a difference just a couple weeks make.

Both girls are great with people.  They love them.  My daughters (12 and 14) have had friends over and both dogs were excited to meet the guests.

They both do the stairs without a problem.  Fireworks and storms have not been an issue.  Both girls have been calm when firecrackers have been going off in the neighborhood and with the storms that rolled through recently.

They are both playful and have had a great time chasing each other in the yard and playing tug o' war.

My mom and her partner Bob have been fostering for Fluffy Dog for about a year and a half now and their foster puppy was recently adopted so they had room for one more.  Tallie reminded them of their foster puppy so they asked to foster her.  So, Tallie met mom and Bob over the weekend.  She loved them and them her and she went home with them to meet their 3 dogs and several cats.
Here is the update I received from my mom---

She loves it here.  Gets along great with everyone.  She potties every time we put her out.  She follows us everywhere.

Mom reports that Tallie does fuss in the crate (she will whine and if there's a water dish in her crate she will tip it over).  But they are going to put a second crate in their bedroom so she'll be able to see them all night and hopefully won't fuss.  When Tallie was here she would fuss for about the first 5-10 minutes in her crate and she would then settle in and quiet down.

Now Trina is staying here with my crew.  I've introduced her to my full gang.  Holly is a 15 yr old Sheltie mix, Miles is an 8 year old mini poodle mix and Missy is an 8 year old standard poodle.  Trina is doing great with all of them.  She is an outgoing yet relaxed girl.  Just really a great combination.

There was a pet parade at our suburban fourth of July festival and I decided to bring Tallie. The pet parade is not so much of a parade but a contest.  There are different categories that a person and their pet can enter such as cutest pet, most like it's owner, best dressed, etc.  I decided that Trina was so darn cute that I would enter her in the cutest pet category and get her some PR at the same time.

There were about 200 people there, most with pets, and over 30 entrants in the cutest pet category.  Trina was beat out by a super fluffy Bernese Mountain Dog,  a German Shepard puppy and an adorable mixed breed.  So, she didn't win but really the best part was her getting to be around a lot of other dogs and a lot of people.  Dozens of people approached us and wanted to pet and hold Trina.  She did great with everyone.  She did great with all the dogs she met too.  Everyone thought she was super cute!  One woman remarked how calm Trina was with all the people and dogs around and thought that Trina might make a good therapy dog.  I don't disagree.  She has a wonderful temperament and very well might make a good therapy dog.

Trina has been good about doing her business outside with the other dogs.  The exception is today, we had heavy rain this morning, and she did not want to go out and had an accident in the house.  Other than that she's been good about doing her business with the others outside.  She even rang the bell on the back door yesterday.  We have a bell than hangs from the back door and my dogs ring it with their noses to be let out.  I think Trina has figured that out and she rang the bell with her nose.  She only wanted to go out to lay down on the patio, not to potty, but it seems like she's figuring out how to let us know when she wants to go out.

Trina is good in the house.  We've not heard her bark much at all.  She does want to play with my dogs but Miles and Holly aren't interested and at 40 pounds Missy is too big for her. They do try to play together but I often stop things for fear Missy will accidentally get too rough for tiny Trina.  Trina and Tallie were perfectly matched for play, Missy is really too big to play safely with Trina.

I work from home and Trina has been good about sleeping next to my desk during the day.  She will rest some and chew on a bone some.  We get up and go outside several times during the day and she's been good about going potty when we go out as I noted above.

Both girls are fantastic and are waiting patiently for a home of their own.

Thanks for reading and thanks for thinking rescue!
Here she is sitting on Bob's lap (she has a new harness on)

Loving Bob some more

And some more!
