Miss Tallie is being fostered by my mom and her partner Bob while Miss Trina is here with us. They were ready for another foster dog and with three dogs of my own (two kids and husband too) I was happy for their help. They came two weeks ago and met both girls and decided they would take Tallie. They really liked her black and white look. So cute!
They just adore her! Keep scrolling through these updates for some photos of when Tallie arrived at their house. They tell me she fits right in with their three dogs (two beagles and a shih tzu mix) and their cats. There have been no problems. Tallie is outgoing and not hesitant about anything. She loves to cuddle and loves to follow Mom and Bob everywhere in the house. When either one of them are in the bathroom they open the door to find her outside the door waiting patiently for them to come out. She loves to cuddle and one of her favorite spots is on the sofa next to Bob. She has not chewed anything she wasn't supposed to and they leave her out with the other dogs if they're gone a couple hours or less. When they're going to be gone several hours they do put her in the crate. She does whine and cry when she gets in the crate but quiets down after about 5 minutes (we noticed the same thing when she was at our house). They have a second crate upstairs in their bedroom and when it's bedtime Tallie goes into that crate all by herself. So, she does like her crate, but especially so when it's not far from family. She is good about staying in the yard when they let her out. They have her drag a long line (leash) just in case but she's never made a move like she wants to run off. She prefers to stay with the pack. She's been very good about doing her potties outside with the others. Bob said one morning they had slept late and it had been about 12 hours since Tallie had been out to potty and she had an accident before they could get downstairs to go out. But otherwise she's been great. In my book...that's very good!
Keep reading prior posts on this blog for older updates on Tallie and Trina.
I will add that we weighed Trina again today and she's now 7 pounds. So, up from 6 to 7. She's 7 inches to the shoulder.
Speaking of weight Mom and Bob report that Tallie's weight is up a bit too and she's now almost 13 pounds. She's a great eater but 13 might be just a tad too heavy for her so they are going to cut down a bit on the food. About 12 is probably just right for her.
Thanks for reading and most especially thanks for thinking rescue! Each dog adopted creates space for another to be rescued. This is especially true right now since the Rescue is at capacity.
