Welcome Brie

Miss Brie has been with us for about a month now and she's a great little girl.  She loves everyone she has meet and does well with my three dogs who range from 15 to 45 pounds.

She has been doing her potties outside.  I work from home and let the dogs out several times during the day but she will bark if she needs to go out in-between those times.

I do leave her uncrated when I leave the house.  She's is good and has not gotten into any trouble.

She likes to be near her people but doesn't need to have the attention on her.  She sleeps on a dog bed next to our bed at night.  She is quiet all night and sleeps well.  I've invited her to sleep in our bed but she prefers to be on the floor.

Similarly, she will occasionally ask to join us on the sofa for a few minutes of cuddle time.  But, as soon as she's had her fill she asks to be put down and will find a dog bed and relax.

She is playful and enjoys playing with our 1 yr old dog Winnie (FKA Falcor).

Miss Brie has had a few knocks in life but you'd never know.  First, she is missing her left rear paw.  The vet who looked at her said the paw looks great.  It is an old injury and is calloused nicely.  Brie hops on three legs and will use the missing paw when sitting or even when scratching herself.  She doesn't miss a beat and will run and play with Winnie like nothing is different.

The second knock Miss Brie has suffered is heartworms.  Good news here again though...she's been treated for them and will just need to be on a monthly hear worm preventative like Heartgard monthly for 24 months.

Brie is currently about 11 pounds but is thin and needs to gain weight.  Maybe another pound or a half and she'll be at her ideal weight.

Brie plays well but can be a little bossy with Winnie.  She's a mighty little girl.  Don't let her size fool you!

Thanks for reading and thanks for thinking rescue!

Pictures to come!
