Just a quick update to share that both boys continue to do great! Jeff is still a super sweet guy and is feeling good after his treatment. He enjoys chewing on nylabones and cuddling with me on the sofa. He would love to run in the yard but that's a no-no for him right now. Because he needs to stay calm he's been in the crate a lot and he's growing frustrated with it and will paw and paw at the crate door but he eventually settles in and naps.
Scrappy is getting accustomed to being in the crate and is not fussing like he was the first day here. He goes in nicely with a treat (so does Jeff) and settles in. He too likes to cuddle on the sofa at night. Jeff prefers to be touching me (laying across my lap) while Scrappy will curl up on the next cushion. Scrappy has been great about doing all his potties outside. Jeff too has been doing all his potties outside. Jeff has one spot where he's marked a few times in my mud room and he keeps remarking that spot so now I just keep the door closed.
Both boys did great at the vet for their heartworm treatment. It's an uncomfortable treatment but both did well. Scrappy's constant tail wag and cute as a button looks even won over the director of the vet clinic and the director sees a lot of dogs but especially liked Scrappy.
Thank you for reading and thanks for thinking rescue. See the video below and in the prior post for more info on these boys.
