Hello readers! It's been busy here in our foster home. Jeff was adopted last week. Scrappy went to a local foster home and is doing great with the dogs and family there and Izzy just arrived. So, here's a little bit about Izzy that we've learned in the last 24 hours.
She is a tiny girl. Both Izzy and Scrappy are delicate little dogs. Both also have big personalities...in a great way. Both are outgoing dogs and do just great with dogs and people of all sizes.
Izzy has made us laugh the way she trots around the house with a happy-go-lucky attitude. She has been doing all her potties outside and slept in the crate without a peep. She has been eating well.
Here's what we understand about her story. Izzy and her mother were owned by a person who passed away. The family did not want the two dogs and was able to find a home for the mother and relinquished Izzy to a shelter. Fortunately Fluffy Dog heard of her situation and had her transported from Alabama to WI/IL. While Izzy's owner may have loved her they did not give her flea prevention and in AL it's flea season all year long. And you know how it is...one itch and you can't stop scratching. Poor Izzy was so uncomfortable with scratching she lost some of her hair. Here at FDR we've made many, many dogs just like Izzy. With proper flea treatment, good nutrition and some time her coat will fill back in.
Here is a second video of Izzy meeting my daughter for the first time. You can see what a lover she is.
