Two is better than one, right? So why not foster two dogs at once? Well, that's what I told my husband and he agreed (smile). This last Saturday I helped transport 7 dogs from Illinois to Wisconsin. You see all of the dogs at Fluffy Dog Rescue have come from shelters in Alabama. Most were strays and when no one came looking for them Fluffy Dog stepped in. About two times a month a van transports the dogs who are bound for IL, WI and MN rescues. This last weekend the van stopped in IL and was heading to MN so I agreed to transport the 7 Fluffy Dogs in my own car in order to save the driver a stop in WI. That's where I met Scrappy. I had already agreed to foster Coki and when I got ready to head back to IL with her I asked my husband if we could add another and he agreed. So, Scrappy made the journey back ti IL with us.
Both are doing really well. They have both gone on long walks with us and do well on a leash.
Coki has typical puppy energy so she zigs and zags on our walks but doesn't pull. She is just a happy lab! She does everything with enthusiasm. She's been good about finding toys and entertaining herself. She throws them and runs back and forth chasing them. She would love it if one of the other dogs would play with her but they're all around 20 pounds (she's maybe about 30 now) and are a little intimidated by her. She tries but so far no takers. She seems to be really smart. I hardly worked on sit with her and she seems to have caught on and today she rang the bell on my back door to go out to potty. (I have a bell hanging from the handle on my back door that my dogs hit with their noses to let me know they need to go out). Smart pup!
Scrappy it a cute little fluff ball! We're not sure what she is. Maybe Westie? Maybe some Poodle? Maybe some Maltese? Hard to say. She has a long coat that will need regular brushing. She has been following me everywhere and slept under my desk today while I did a little work. She slept in the crate last night and did well. She slept quietly all night until we got up.
Here's a video of them from today. Video
Thanks for reading and thanks for thinking rescue!
