Snow Day

Well, it's snowing here in the Chicago area.  Big time snow.  And despite all this strange white stuff around Nutter is making the best of it.  She has been with us about three days now and continues to do all her business outside.  She is playing with my two dogs.  They all enjoy a good game of "chase Miles" together.  Poor Nutter though the snow is so deep and her legs are on the short side so while the other two are racing around she can only hop.  It's a cute site.  We have about 7 inches of new snow now and it's still coming down so I decided to make life a little easier for my canine family members and made a path all the way around the yard.  This makes the racing around a little easier for everyone.

Nutter has been sleeping in the crate at night.  She goes in nicely with a treat.  She whines a little when she first gets in but then settles down nicely for the night.

While she's young she doesn't appear to be much of a chewer.  I went outside to shovel the driveway today and I left my slippers in the kitchen.  When I came in she was sleeping next to my slippers but had left them alone.  Good girl.  She has been chewing the bones we have around occasionally but that's it.

When she relaxes in a sit her hind legs go out to one side.  It's very cute.  I think you can see it in some of the pictures.

She really is a people lover.  She loves giving kisses and wants to be hugged but if you ignore her she's okay and goes off and lays down.  She snuggled with me on the couch the other night.  She rested nicely next to me and wasn't demanding about attention.

Oh, and she's got the stairs down pat.  On her second day here...less than 24 hours since arriving...I made the decision I wasn't going to help her down anymore.  So, I went down into the kitchen and no less than 30 seconds later she came trotting into the kitchen.  Stairs have been a non-event for her since.

Below are some pics and a video of our snow day.
