We left Baby out of the crate this morning for about 2 hours while we ran the girls here and there (golf, softball, gymnastics, etc) and he did great. Everything looks all in order. Since I work from home there hasn't been time to "test" him like this before. He passed with flying colors.
He's started sleeping on his back during the day. His belly is out and his front legs are curled down. I tried to get a picture but I made too much noise and disturbed him. But, I think you can imagine it. I love it when the foster dogs start sleeping on their back like that. To me it says that they're happy and relaxed. It's a very vulnerable position to be in...belly up like that...so I think he's feeling safe and secure...and here it only took a few days.
You can read below for more info on our first week with this great guy. In an nutshell- he's a young, happy, well mannered little guy. He is a housebroken adult but has a puppy-like joie-de-vivre (been many years since French class...think I got that right). He loves people and will be guilty of some licking and playful mouthiness but then he'll be happy to curl up and just chill out. Kind of like having the fun of a puppy for a little bit...but then the enjoyment an adult dog who can relax and who knows how to behave in the house.
Thanks for thinking rescue!
