Thursday

Baby still doing all his business outside so I think we can conclude now that he's housebroken.  Someone taught this cute little guy some good manners and then lost him.  From what the Rescue has found out, he was a stray and no one came to claim him.  Poor guy.  I don't think he could have been on his own for very long because he wouldn't have survived.  Small, white, sweet, well mannered little dogs don't last too long on their own.

He is very good in the house and doesn't chew things he's not supposed to.  He likes the fluffy toys we have and he'll pick one and carry it around.  He likes the squeaky toys too but ours seem to be a little too big for him to carry around.  Maybe this weekend I can make it to the store and get him something Baby-sized for him.  He has found an occasional stick in the yard and will start to chew but I tell him "no" and he drops it without a fuss.

He and Miles have started to play some.  Miles' favorite game is "chase me" and Baby has caught on.  It is so cute to watch them racing in the yard.

Really Baby is a pretty mellow guy.  He is young and has some puppy enthusiasm when he first meets people (lots of kisses and wiggling) but is a laid back guy otherwise.  Sometimes he'll follow me through the house or occasionally he'll hang out with my two dogs, just resting in the living room or family room.  He will curl up next to me in my chair (yes, it's my chair...not my husbands) when I'm watching a little TV or sometimes he'll be on the floor resting or chewing a toy.

He seems to be mixed with some breed that is non-shedding.   Maybe shihtzu?  Maybe that's where the tail comes from?  I don't know.  He does shed though but you can tell that he'll need occasional clipping at least around his feet and eyes.  Right now you almost can't see the pads of his feet because there is so much hair growing over them.  I will have to clip them.  He's a low shedding guy.

He was a hit the other night at the softball game (no pun intended).  He was so well behaved and got so many compliments on his cuteness and personality.

Oh, he's eating very well now.  He still eats slowly, but not as slowly as the first couple days.  Slow though is a good thing.  He takes the time to chew his food...and you know many dogs just inhale it.

Thanks for thinking rescue.
