Today Macy was getting playful with my female Holly. Holly is also a sweet, sweet girl just like Macy...but she's probably 13 years old (she was also a rescue so we're not sure). Due to her age Holly is not so interested playing but it was fun to see Macy hop around in front of Holly and try to engage her in some playbows. Very cute.
My dog walker, Candy, came over today to say hello. She met Macy and said she was a sweet, sweet girl and if she didn't already have 6 (yes, 6 dogs) of her own she would adopt her. Candy recently started her own business, Bark U, which offers training, day care, grooming and dog walking. She is an excellent trainer and all around great person. Check her out if you're in the Chicago area (www.Barkuniversityinc.net). Hey- even if you're outside of Chicago feel free to "like" her business on Facebook.
My girls are out of school now and don't start camp until next week. So today was a full day playdate with their 7 year old friend who lives behind us. Just as I would expect, Macy is very, very good with her. She excited to see her and then leaves her alone once she's gotten to know (sniff) her.
Here are some pics and videos of Macy today. You can see the bridge of her nose and some of the matted and thin hair. This should fill in. Poor girl probably had a bad case of fleas (now flea free) and was itching, itching and got the hair all knotted up. I trimmed off most but left some of the tighter knots to grow out a bit since they were close to the skin. This girl probably didn't have the attention, affection or care she needed early in her life but she is sure soaking it all up now. Seeing these fur-babies blossom is what being a foster family is all about.
