Thursday

By george I think she's got it.  I've been away for the last day and a half, in CA for work, and left the dogs and kids in the care of my husband.  He said everyone did great.  Still accident free for Miss Macy.  I do believe she's got this down now.  She's a smart girl so it was easy.  In the morning she gets excited to eat breakfast and she'll do either #1 or #2 and want to come back inside.  I've been telling her to "go potty" and I make sure she does the other one before she comes back in, which she always does quickly.  Good girl.  I do believe we can call her housebroken.
I took the red-eye back and got home about 6am this morning.  She was soooo excited to see me.  I thought she was going to wiggle right out of her skin.  She loves people and does show excitement when she meets someone, but no barking, and she calms down fairly quickly.
I was still exhausted from the trip and went to bed for a few hours and she curled up next to me and took a nice nap.
I think her hair on her behind is beginning to fill in.  It was never really bad to begin with but to me it looks even better.  The bridge of her nose still needs to fill in.  The hair there was really matted from all the scratching she must have been doing so I trimmed off what I could.  There still are some matts which will be easier to trim off as the hair grows.
Petfinder has her listed as 2-3 years but her rabies certificate shows her as 18 months.  So, she's probably somewhere in between there.  As with most rescue dogs, age (and breed) are a guess based on the vet and rescue assessments.  One thing is for sure though..she is a delightful girl.
