The girls are playing

Well, what do you know!  Alley and my dog Missy started playing yesterday.  I thought they were destined to be nothing more than roommates but they have taken an interest in each other.  It was very cute, Alley laid on her back with her legs up trying to get Missy to play. Then Missy laid down next to her and did the same thing.  They kind of pawed at each other while they were on their sides facing each other.  Gosh, what a great thing to watch.

Miss Alley has been doing great.  She's been with us not quite two weeks and she's started to pick up toys and to entertain herself.  Overall, I'd say she's a pretty low-key girl who likes to just hang out by her people but every so often she'll pick up a toy, toss it up and race around catching and tossing.  It lasts a few minutes and then she's done.  It's so nice to see this.  This means she's settling in a really feeling comfortable here.

I continue to spoil her and let her sleep in the bed with us.  She's easy.  She finds a comfy spot and that's it.  She settles down for the night and does not get up until I get up in the morning.  The other night I caught her sleeping on her back with her legs straight  up in the air.    That's a very vulnerable position to be in for a dog so to me it says that she's really happy and content.  It's very cute to see.

I would say that she's been very good about doing her business outside.  I've left some pee pads out just in case and the other day while I was on a conference call I noticed she got up from her sleeping position and started walking around.  I suspected she needed to go out but because I was on a phone call I could not get to the door to open it for her.  I hoped for the best and when I came out of my "office" I noticed that she had used one the pee-pads to do her business.  Good girl!  So, while I wouldn't classify her as housebroken I would say that she's doing really well.  Keep reading prior posts to see more info about this beautiful girl.

Thanks for reading.

I will be visiting Phoebe this weekend and will add some pictures and an update about her then.  My mom is fostering her (St Charles, IL) and tells me that she is a sweet and playful puppy who is doing well with their cats and dogs.  Phoebe does try to get the cats to play but she is sweet about it and the cats just ignore her.

Here's one of Phoebe at my mom's house from last week.  She is a cuddle-bug.
