Welcome Snyder

Snyder just arrived.  He looks like a scruffy Schnauzer.  Very cute!  He is a nice size at about 23 pounds.  He is doing well with my girls (11 and 13) and my husband.  He lays down and rolls over for a tummy rub when my youngest daughter pets him.  His hair is wire-y so I believe that he probably does shed.

Poor Mr Snyder is heart worm positive.  Just like Lucy who we had here in a couple months ago he will be undergoing treatment and will be on R&R for four weeks.  He'll be available for adoption at that time.

My male, Miles, does not like larger males in his home (I've tried to remind Miles that it's MY home and I can invite whomever I like...but he doesn't listen).   So, to minimize the stress on Snyder (he needs low stress while he's undergoing treatment) I am not going to introduce him to the rest of my pack.  I can tell you that we had Wescott (20 pound male shihtzu mix) here for a day or so and Snyder was fine with him.   I've walked Snyder and he does bark a bit at the other dogs we've passed.  He does pull at first but does eventually get to a point where he relaxes and will allow the leash to slacken.

He is a nice sized guy with beautiful eyes!

Thanks for reading and thanks for thinking rescue.
