Snyder back in Wisconsin

Well, Fluffy Dog Rescue recently accepted another heart worm positive dog.  Tinee is her name and just like Snyder she'll soon be going through treatment and then resting for 4 weeks.  She is a sweet little dachshund.  We have a great facility here in Illinois that offers the treatment for rescues.  So, Tinne is now with us and Mr Snyder is back in Wisconsin in a new foster home.  Sometimes we have to make switches like this.  This is what's best for Tinee and I know Snyder's forever home will find him soon and chances are they are in Wisconsin too.

So, it was very hard to say good-bye to Snyder.  I like to think of fostering as my job and I try to keep things very business like.  But, I couldn't keep it all business when it was time to say good-bye.  He got lots of kisses and hugs from all of us.  All the best to you Synder!  You'll find a wonderful home we know it!  You're a special guy and I'm sure you'll be loved!

So, in his last week here Snyder did great.  Here's kind of a recap of this happy fella and an update at the same time.  He's housebroken and had a couple accidents in the first two weeks but that was it.  He learned to ring the bell on the back door to let us know he wanted to go out (he didn't always NEED to go out ...just wanted to go sniff around).  He loved playing with Missy our Standard Poodle.   He was nervous at first when he met her but gosh by the 2nd or 3rd day they were playing and running in the yard.  There is a video below.

He does pull when walking on a leash but he got better and better at it while he was here.  I think as he got familiar with the sites and sounds in our neighborhood he was more relaxed and then pulled less.  He also got better about not barking at the bicycles and other dogs that would pass us.  Again, the more we were around them I think the more comfortable he got.

He's a happy boy who does everything with enthusiasm.  He can jump high when she's excited.  But he loves his people with that same enthusiasm.  He loves to cuddle.

He is not much of a chewer.  He took a few tissues out of the bathroom wastebasket once or twice but that was it.  He wasn't too interested in the toys we had except for one ball.  He would play with it all by himself.  He is good in the crate and does not fuss.  He will go in there on his own when it's time for bed.

He does shed and probably has a lot of breeds mixed in with his schnauzery look.

He is not vocal in the crate but is vocal when he's playing or when he's a little nervous.  You can see Snyder and Missy playing on the video and hear his grrrs and grunts.  It's all good.  Just the noises he makes.  They had a lot of fun together when he was here.  Missy loves when she gets to play with the foster dogs!

We love you Snyder and miss you already!

Thanks for reading and thanks for thinking rescue.
