Trina regularly will look for the closest lap and will snuggle in. She just about melts right into you. Such a love bug!
Trina also has a cute head tilt when you talk to her. It looks like she's really trying to understand what you're saying.
I believe both girls are part shih tzu. I will check with the rescue but I believe Shiba Inu is an error on Tallie's Petfinder page. She's about the size of a shih tzu at 11 pounds. Her body type reminds me of a shih tzu but she has a terrier looking head with no underbite.
Trina might be shih tzu and chihuahua. That's my guess. She is smaller, at about 7 pounds, and does have the shih tzu under bite. She also has an apple shaped head which reminds me of a chihuahua. What ever she is she is oozing cuteness and personality. Both girls do shed. They seem to have a mix of a wire and soft hair.
Both are great little dogs. They have been great with my teenagers (12 and 14) and with my husband. They are excited to see people.
We commonly see dogs from the Alabama shelters coming in with itchy skin. Poor nutrition and lack of good care leaves them susceptible to these things. Not to worry though...it's nothing that good food and a topical treatment can't take care of. Both girls had treatment while in Alabama and now they are just waiting for their hair to fill in. But hey, they are both cute now so the added cuteness will just be a bonus!
In contrast to their hair coats which make them look like older ladies both girls have shiny white teeth which, to me, signals that they are young girls! Plus, their joie-de-vivre also tells me that they are youngins.
Here are a few more pictures from today. And, some videos from yesterday and today.
