Scrappy is now in a foster home in Wisconsin. He stayed with my family through his heartworm treatment. His treatment is now complete and just like any other dog he should stay on a monthly heartworm preventative like Heartgard Plus. Easy! So easy it's a shame that dogs like Scrappy had to become heartworm positive to begin with.
My family tends to take the heartworm dogs and unfortunately the supply of adoptable but heartworm positive dogs from Alabama is never ending. So, the rescue has asked us to take another dog and Scrappy has moved onto another foster home where he can wait for his forever family to find him.
