He slept in the crate last night. He went in nicely and whined a little at first but then was quiet all night.
He is very polite when taking treats and waits his turn nicely. He doesn't beg at the dinner table or in the kitchen. I'm not sure what kind of food he was eating, maybe canned, because he is not wild about the kibble. He turned his nose up at it yesterday but with some coaxing finally ate it, but one kibble at a time. Today, he ate all on his own, but again, one kibble at a time. I will mix some canned or fresh in the food tomorrow and that may speed things up for him.
Today Baby, Miles and I took a long walk (1 mile) and Baby did just fine. He walks well on the leash. He likes to be out front but not too much pulling. He gets distracted by the birds some but he was less distracted by them today than yesterday.
He rested most of the day. On the couch in my "office" (I work in the basement) for a bit, under my desk for bit and next to my desk for a bit. He chewed a nylabone now and then too. My male, Miles, can get possessive with real rawhides or bully sticks so I don't keep them out.
Some friends of ours came over to meet him today. Baby was very happy to meet them. He has that puppy-like enthusiasm when meeting people and he was wagging his whole body and giving lots of kisses. He might seem like a high energy dog if that's all you see of him but from what I've seen of him he's really a pretty mellow guy.
Usually by day three the foster dogs are pretty well settled. So, I imagine I'll see more of his personality in the next couple days.
