My girls each had a friend sleep over last night and Charcoal did great with them both. Really, I had no doubt she would. She loves people and is good around them. She does jump up when excited but she's not big enough to knock the 10- 12 yr olds over.
In order to get ready for the sleep over last night I took a power nap during the day. I could hear Charcoal searching for me as I laid in bed. She put her feet up on the edge of the bed and gave me those cute puppy eyes as if to say "please." I said "okay" and she jumped up, found a nice spot and napped with me for about an hour. She is not needy and does not demand attention, she just likes to be close.
Someone in the neighborhood was setting off a few fireworks last night. Charcoal was fine with them. My dogs ran for cover but Charcoal was relaxed and it seemed like they didn't bother her in the least.
She continues to do well on our walks and runs. She is fine when the other dogs pass us and fine when people pass us also. I know some herding breeds will even try to herd cars but that's not Charcoal at all. The cars go by and she doesn't care at all.
I put together some video of Charcoal and you can see it below (click link to view). You can see some of the things she's learning and some of the fun we're having with her. I'm no expert at putting these videos together so please keep that in mind!
Thanks for watching and thanks for thinking rescue!
