Little Miss Lucy just makes us smile! This young girl loves life and it shows. She is very playful and Mattie has been her main BFF. But, Mattie had "the surgery" this week so wasn't up to all the antics. No problem for Lucy. She makes her own fun when there's no one to play with. She tosses her toys up in the air and runs after them. Tosses them up again and runs for them again. You get the idea. Gosh, it's so fun to watch. (I have a video of it but am having trouble getting it to upload.)
She is affectionate. She follows me everywhere and is on my lap as soon as I sit down. She is good with my girls (10 and 12). I had a video of Lucy giving my 10 year old kisses but something happened and I can't find it now. Anyway, Lucy is young and has some exuberance so some of her kisses became little puppy nips on my daughter's nose. Nothing that hurts, and it made my daughter laugh, but a younger child might think that Lucy was biting. My girls scoop her up and hug her a love on her and Lucy enjoys it all.
She has been very good about going outside and doing her business even with the very, very cold weather we had this week. She makes quick business of doing her thing and rushes back in. That said, she has had an accident about once a day in the week that she's been here. In my book, that's not too bad. We know that someone gave her up because they could not housebreak her. It's a shame because she is close. She knows how do get busy outside and she can hold it in the crate, so she will get this. I think my 10 year old daughter summed it up well when we were talking about her prior owners giving her up and she said "you gotta have patience, and you gotta let her out."
Thanks for reading and thanks for thinking rescue.
